The Association of Pre-schools Playgroups in Malawi is an indigenous charitable non-governmental organisation registered in Malawi under the Trustees Act CAP 5:03 of the Laws of Malawi. It was established in 1970 inorder to assist children espeically those from low income families who could not afford to pay high fees in private Early Childhood Development and Care Centres. more

Primary Education


Most children start formal education at primary school at the age of six. The primary school takes 8 years from standard 1 to 8 at the end of which pupils write the Primary School Leaving Certificate examinations more


Secondary Education
Children are selected to secondary schools after passing the Primary school leaving certificate examinations.secondary education takes four (4) years from form 1 to form 4. At form two a child writes malwi Junior certificate examination on which upon passing proceeds to form three . At form for a child writes another exam the Malawi School Certificate of Examination.If a child passes this these exams with good grades he or she is selected for University Education or can enroll with any other college of his or her choice.To have a look at public secondary schools in Malawi click here
