Despite teething problems experienced by emerging voluntary
NGO's like Women's Voice, the organization has registered a number of achievements:
Organized two workshop for 62 women who were contesting for
the 1999 Presidential Elections.
Organized a Parliamentarian tour to Capetown in South Africa
for Malawi women parliamentarians in March 2001.
Organized ten series of capacity building and leadership
education workshops on women's rights and constitution and leadership skills.
A ppointed member of the Local Government Elections working
Committee in 1994.
Lobbied for the incorporation of women's rights and interests
during the constitutonal reform exercise in 1994.
Successfully established a network of Volunteers in most
parts of the country to promote and realize the organization's purpose:
"Promotion and protection of women's and children's rights."
Successfully implemented a number of civic education and
sensitization campaigns.
Produced a Directory of Professional Women for the use of
the President, Government and other institutions when appointing women
to managerial and executive offices or posts.
Organized three leadership workshops in the three regions
of the country.
Conducted a comprehensive Research on Traditional practices/customs
and their effects on women and children's rights.
